Chocolate And Caramel Filled Blondie Bars
Ingredients:
6 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1-1/3 cups (8-oz. pkg.) HERSHEY'S Milk Chocolate Baking Pieces Filled with Caramel
1/2 cup coarsely chopped nuts(optional)
1/2 teaspoon water
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 F. Grease 8- or 9-inch square baking pan.
2. Beat butter and brown sugar in large bowl until fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; add to butter mixture, beating until well blended.
3. Spread one half of batter in prepared pan. Set aside 2 tablespoons baking pieces; sprinkle remaining pieces and nuts, if desired, over batter. Drop remaining batter by teaspoonfuls over mixture. Gently spread batter so that all baking pieces and nuts are covered.
4. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
5. Place remaining 2 tablespoons baking pieces and 1/2 teaspoon water in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at HIGH (100%) 15 seconds; stir. If necessary, microwave at HIGH an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until pieces are melted and smooth when stirred. Drizzle over blondie. Allow drizzle to harden; cut into bars. About 16 bars.

Blondies
ingredients
4 oz. (8 Tbs.) unsalted butter; more for the pan
1-1/2 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 large egg, at room temperature
1 large egg yolk, at room temperature
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
5 oz. (1 cup plus 2 Tbs.) all-purpose flour
Scant 1/4 tsp. salt
2 oz. (3/4 cup) coarsely chopped toasted pecans
how to make
tipThis recipe can be doubled easily; use a 13X9-inch pan and increase the baking time slightly. The recipe gives a range of baking times -- use the shorter time for metal pans, the longer for Pyrex pans.
Position an oven rack on the middle rung. Heat the oven to 350°F. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, heat the butter and brown sugar, stirring frequently, until the sugar has dissolved. Cook, stirring, about 1 min. longer--the mixture will bubble but should not boil. Set the pan aside to cool for about 10 min.
Meanwhile, butter an 8-inch square pan, line the pan bottom with parchment (or waxed paper), and then butter the parchment. Stir the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla into the cooled sugar mixture. Add the flour, salt, and nuts, stirring just until blended. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake until the center is springy when touched (the top may still look doughy) and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (it's fine if there are a few moist crumbs clinging to it), 25 to 35 min.
Set the pan on a rack until it's cool enough to handle. Run a paring knife around the inside edge of the pan and then invert the pan onto a flat surface and peel off the parchment. Flip the baked brownie back onto the rack to cool completely. Cut into squares with a sharp knife.
