you aren't supposed to put anything in the vagina for six weeks, these are doctors orders for a reason. i wore my pregnancy panties afterwards because they were low cut. also try not to wear any jeans or pants made of rough material until the bandages fall off.

For the first few months get use to wearing brief type panties, just a few months. Let the body heal. The briefs (granny panties) will keep the bandage over the incision protected while it heals and support the tummy so it gets back into pre baby shape. Resume tampons after 3 months from delivery. New mommies should be concerned with baby and healing properly after major surgery.

You mean right after?? You should wear pads--the volume of blood requires a pad, and there will be clots too. Panties won't hurt the incision and the rubbing doesn't cause any pain. You will find the site of the incision will feel numb for quite a while after wards.

My staples were removed before I left the hospital--and I only had staples with one of my c-sections. I had stitches with the other two.
Another reason you should not wear tampons is b/c your cervix may be dilated.

Nooo....she should not use tampons.....after my c-section I wore high waisted aka "granny panties" so they would not rub across my incision. Actually for the first few weeks I still wore some of my maternity undies since I was still so swollen and sore. As far as being numb, that is very true, took years for me to get most of the feeling back, but I did have clothing snag my staples and that was painful!
