If you can relocate to regular Manassas instead, or Chantilly, you will be happier. Manassas Park has seen a huge rise in crime, partially due to the MS-13 gang which is pretty well established there. Suburban sprawl in the entire county is horrible; there is a strip mall on every corner and substandard public transportation. Plan on your Saturday errands all taking 30% longer just for the traffic jams. Schools are very good though. Seriously, if you have not signed a lease or mortgage yet, I'd recommend looking at one of the other cities nearby.

If you are planning to work in downtown DC the traffic is horrible. Manassas has all kinds of neighborhoods from rural to suburban ghetto to big McMansions. They do have alot of shopping options but a lot of lights. Schools are decent and a lot better than DC schools. A few gangs but its not as bad as LA or New York.

Well, one side of the road is a National Military Park and the other side is American suburbia. Quite a contrast.
