Since I quit alcohol 8 months ago I dont go to bars or clubs anymore and my job doesn't involve meeting women. Everyone said I would meet someone special in the supermarket, the gym or wherever. It's the longest I have ever been single! I'm told I am quite goodlooking and that I'm a good laugh but I just aint meeting anyone. Even my weird friends have found someone!! Do I just have to wait and hope for the best?

First of all stop using the word aint .Second, maybe you should go it alone for alittle while .I think you need to be alone with your self and get to know yourself .What do you like what don't you like .It sounds like your just into the idea of having someone around.once you know your self you have a good chance of finding someone with the same interest, ideas, hopes, dreams etc. Your not a drinker any more thats awsome . Try church as an option .There are alot of former drinkers who just want to have the clean life. There is nothing wrong with that at all.Did any one say it would take 8 months to meet someone.NO,it will take as long as it takes. You just might enjoy being alone for a while get your mind off of women for a while and focus on yourself . It will be OK.

Hi, even though you don't drink, you could still go to bars and clubs, when I was getting into shape for mountain climbing I regularly went out with my friends who were drinking, I was on the diet coke and went out to the pubs.

Have you tried meeting someone via your local paper?

How about walking your dog or your friends, as alot of ladies walk their dogs and its a great talking point, thats how I met my wife.

Stop looking, you will never find love if you look for it, it should come naturally and unexpected, i garantee you that when you get fed up of looking and start to enjoy being on your own, someone will pop up!!, you can meet someone anywhere...even walking down the street, or on a bus!!!just wait, dont force it or it wont be real!!!

It's always a lie. Lots of people live lies and give advice based off of lies they believe. It's the only way some people can accept who they are and how they manage to keep themselves from going crazy or becoming depressed. All I can say is keep at it. But don't be shocked if you never find that person.

Don't just wait and hope. You have to put yourself in places where you can meet women. If you're not doing pubs / clubs, is there anything local you can join involving something you're interested in?

They are lying to you. There is no thing as the "right" one. Anyone who says that it is preordained that everyone will find love does not know what they are talking about. There is no guarantee that you will ever find anyone at all, that is the way life is. Don't bother with them, they are not worth the trouble.
