I find a lot of recipes for cupcakes and sweet treats, and a lot of recipes for main dishes that are more to an adult's taste but having trouble finding just the right thing for a main dish the kids will like.

Ghostbuster Delight for Halloween

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
15 oz can tomato sauce
1 envelope taco seasoning mix
2-1/2 cups corn chips
15 oz can refried beans
1/2 cup shredded cheese

Procedure
1. Brown meat in a skillet and drain.

2. Stir in 1-1/2 cups of the tomato sauce and the taco seasoning.

3. Line the bottom of a baking dish with 2 cups of corn chips.

4. Spoon the meat mixture over the chips.

5. Stir the remaining tomato sauce into the refried beans. Spread over the meat.

6. Bake at 275°F for 25 minutes.

7. Crush the remaining corn chips. Sprinkle the shredded cheese and corn chips over the top and return to the oven to bake for 5 more minutes.

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
3 tablespoons diced onion
1/8 cup diced green pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
8 oz can tomato soup
1 cup water
1/4 cup grated cheese
1 tin refrigerated bisquits

Procedure
1. Brown the meat, onion and green pepper in a skillet. Drain off grease.

2. Add the tomato soup plus the water. Simmer until well heated.

3. Stir in the seasonings and set aside to cool.

4. Press the tin bisquits into the holes of a greased muffin pan to form cups.

5. Fill eat bisquit cup about 3/4 full with the meat mixture. Top with grated cheese and bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes.

You can buy cresent roll dough and hot dogs and make mummy's out of the them. You could make spagetti and meatballs and just dye the noodles. You could call it worms and eyeballs!!! Give them bibs and let them eat with their hands! Make some green bread sticks to go with it. Same thing with Mac and cheese, just dye the noodles a different color. Make some sandwiches and cut them with a halloween cookie cutter.

Let them make their own "pizza monsters"on English muffin or bagel halves. After the sauce & cheese, use olive slices or pepperoni for eyes, mushroom noses, green pepper mouths, etc. They'll have a ball!

i cant think of a main dish but a yummy snack that i love is grahham crackers with a layer of peanut butter with chocolate chips on top

MUMMY DOGS
1 package (8 breadsticks or 11 ounces) breadstick dough
1 package (16 ounces) hot dogs
Mustard and poppy seeds
Preheat oven to 375. Using 1 dough strip for each, wrap hot dogs to look like mummies, leaving opening for eyes. Place on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown.
Place dots of mustard and poppy seeds for eyes.
Makes 8 servings.

GRILLED CHEESE JACK-O-LANTERNS
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
8 slices bread
4 slices monterey jack cheese
4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice. Place bread buttered-side-down on ungreased cookie sheet.
Using small sharp knife, cut out shapes from 4 bread slices to make jack-o-lantern face. On remaining bread slices layer 1 slice monterey jack and 1 slice cheddar.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until cheese is melted. Remove from oven,place jack-o-lantern bread slice on sandwiches and serve.
Makes 4 servings.

HALLOWEEN CHICKEN PIZZA MASKS
1 pound ground chicken
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
6 english muffins, split
1 1/2 cups prepared pizza sauce
1 large green or red bell pepper
1 cup(4 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup(4ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese
1 can (2 1/4 ounces) sliced black olives, drained
Heat large skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add chicken, onion, salt, oregano and black pepper. Cook and stir about 6 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink, set aside. Cover 15 1/2X10 1/2-inch baking pan with foil. Arrange muffins in single layer on prepared pan. Spread 2 tablespoons pizza sauce on each muffin half. Cover generously with chicken mixture, dividing evenly. Cut 12 slivers bell pepper into "smiling" mouth shapes; set aside. Chop remaining bell pepper; sprinkle over mini-pizzas. Combine cheddar and mozzarella chesses in small bowl;sprinkle generously over mini-pizzas. Bake at 450 for 12 minutes or until cheese is light brown. Make face on each pizza by using 2 olives slices for "eyes" and 1 pepper shape for "mouth".
Makes 12 mini-pizzas
