Why are they putting a blanket over the childs face to begin with?
Depending on the age of the child this could be very dangerous. Could you tell us the age of the child, and how long is the blanket over the face? This would be helpful and I can give you additional info. Thanks

It depends on how old the kid is and how heavy the blanket is. My baby girl becomes very calm when I lightly cover her (face included) with the recieving blanket and I do it when I can check on her and watch her closely. I dont find its abuse because she likes it and im there to watch shes breathing okay.

I wouldn't think it would be safe. The child could get their head wrapped in the blanket and suffocate!

Sounds like more of a comfort thing than an abuse type thing...you said lightly over a face...not suffocatig.

i would be concerned. speak with the necessary officials at the day care and if it doesnt stop or you are not comfortable with trusting them not to do it again, call the state department.
