Good and bad, there are laws against working too late when you are young. You get your own money, possibly for a car and fun stuff. I bet the parents still pay for the basics. Cool huh? Just keep time for homework and I would recommend only working 3 or so days a week because of school and friends. The money can add up fast, and it is usually very easy to get a job with a friend, both apply together. Then work gets very fun! Just don't get in trouble. Entry level "teen" jobs usually let friends work together.

It can be fun but remember to take time and enjoy your youth. It does go by very fast! I loved the job I had when I was a teen but I wish I had been able to be like my friends and have mom and dad pay for everything... but I didn't have that option so I had to work. If you are working your Sr. year make sure your job knows that you have things going on and you have to have time off. DO NOT miss prom and things like that! You will regret it later if you do!!!

When I was a teenager and had a job, I thought it was cool being allowed to be responsible. But, as I got older, I found that work is nothing but a bunch of crap, especially when you have a job that you don't like with little pay and you cannot get anything else.

i am 17 years old and i am a manager at carl's jr. now i work at least 5-6 days a week pulling at least more than 40 hours in one week alone, so to answer your question, i recommend that you get the best hours you can at your fisrt job and build on there, and try not to stress out at the same time

Its freaking wiked, because 9 chances out of 10 you have no expenses to pay. So you can save all your money for partying and buying the stuff you love.

But save a bit.. just incase something great comes along, or just for the future.

Its pretty cool. I had two jobs when I was in high school. It allowed me to meet a lot of new people. Also helped me to get out of the house when my parents were driving me crazy!

Hot, sweaty, tired...I dug ditches in Houston when I was 16. You should try it sometime.
