My son was born prematurly and I was hesitant to get him vaccinated. After speaking with the ped.. He got his first round of shots at 5 pounds. He screamed for 4 hours straight non stop and wouldn't eat right or sleep right for 2 weeks. At the next appointment they took out pertussis and he had 8 hours of straight screaming (I gave him tylenol both times too) turned into a zombie child for about a month. Now I'm holding off on the vaccines until he is older and can tell me what is wrong. He has also plateaued with his gross motor skills and before his second round of shots he was ahead of his peers. Now at 15 months he will not walk or babble or do anything his peers do.. I'm getting treated like a psychopath.. Where can I get support?

Sorry to hear about your son and his reactions to the vaccines. I did not vaccinate my son and am so happy that I found a Dr that was willing to work with me. Start off by reading "What Your Dr May Not Tell You about Children's Vaccinations" by Stephanie Cape. It is a great resource and has a lot of information about symptoms, how to contact organizations, etc. A lot of people do not know their rights and think that if they do not vaccinate that they will be reported or not be able to enroll their children in school. It is all a big scare tactic. Start to interview new pediatricians in your area and find one that will work with you.

Another resource is:
www.gval.com (Global vaccine awareness league) and

www.hrsa.gov/bhpr/vicp (National childhood vaccine injury compensation program)

Hope that helps. Best of luck to you and your family!

If you need any support in the meantime, feel free to email me: thearinsmom@yahoo.com

Oh mama. I'm so sorry. What a rough ride for you both.

Check out www.mothering.com/discussions. There are two forums that can provide you with both support and information. Vaccinations and Selective & Delayed Vaccinations. There are some wonderful mamas there who've been there, done that, and have done years of research on the topic of vaccine injury.

*hugs to you and your son*

It really sounds like those vaccines did harm to your child. They can cause autism and it sounds like maybe that's what happened. Try to google the term vaccines harm and see what comes up. I know there is an organization who deals with this and they would be of much help to you. On a side note.....don't do anymore vaccines even when he's older.

I think you may have to take him for a second opinion and retell all this to that dr. Because it seems to me, and I could be wrong, that perhaps there something else going on that has nothing to do with the vaccinations. Has he been checked for Autism? Good luck to you.
