They used to use them to take down small game and I believe even kangaroos. It consisted of 3 round weights (balls, stones) and string connecting them. They were tossed to either choke the prey or wind around their legs to prevent them from moving. What are these things called and can anyone give some sites about them (maybe Wikipedia?) Thanks in advance.

Aussies have been known 2 use boomerangs as weapons, along with the Nobble-Sling that U describe.
Nobble-sling was the name my Aussie mate gave them, I never did find out if he was serious, sorry.
But it did nobble them, so mayb the name stuck ( ? )

bolas, and wikipedia would work. it wasnt just australians who used them, either, ancient cultures all over the world figured them ouit all on thier own

THEY ARE CALLED BOLAS BUT THEY ARE NOT AUSTRALIAN WEAPONS I THINK THEY ARE SOUTH AMERICAN
