Dip the patted dry chicken pieces in a beaten egg.
Mix flour with salt and freshly ground pepper. Put the flour mix in a plastic bag and add the chicken pieces, toss until coated. You can add other spices like basil or paprika to the flour mix for a change of pace.

the best way to get a crispy coating when frying chicken is mix 3 cups flour with 2 tablespoons seasoning salt and 1 tablespoon pepper in a big zip lock baggy.
In a large bowl mix 3 cups hot water with 3 tablespoons chicken bouillon flavor.
Coat chicken with flour mixture put in water mixture then coat in flour again{for extra crispy dip 3 times.} fry in 1 inch very hot oil for least 14 minutes or until golden brown, turn often. But be very careful may pop hot oil.
If you deep fry cook for 5 minutes

You do not need a wet batter just wash chicken parts and season roll chicken in some flour and fry,remember when chicken is done to sprinkle with salt to taste after removing from the oil.

2/3 cup buttermilk
8 boneless skinless chicken breasts (2 1/2 lb)
1 cup Country® Corn Flakes cereal
1 cup Original Bisquick® mix or Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
2 packages (1 oz each) ranch dressing mix (dry)
Cooking spray


1. Heat oven to 400ºF. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray.
2. Pour buttermilk into shallow glass or plastic bowl. Add chicken; turn to coat. Let stand 5 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, in 2-quart resealable food-storage plastic bag, crush cereal with rolling pin. Add Bisquick mix and dressing mix (dry) to cereal in bag. Remove chicken from buttermilk; discard buttermilk. Add chicken to cereal mixture. Seal bag; shake to coat.
4. Place chicken on cookie sheet. Spray with cooking spray. Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until juice of chicken is clear when center of thickest part is cut (170°F).

I either use some flour and put garlic salt, paprika, salt & pepper in it - dip the chicken in flour, then milk, then flour or I use seasoned bread crumbs and eggs.
