OCD, folks tend to obsess about certain things, but it is different for each person, so there is no telling what they are thinking at any given time. They often feel nervous and stressed.

It's a feeling of uncertainty....that things will not be right if a ritual is not carried out. The feeling is of intense anxiety and fear. It is relieved when the ritual is done but within seconds it can reach fever pitch again so they have to perform the ritual over and over.

Sometimes there are thoughts also, eg. If I don't then so and so will die etc.

It really is a vicious circle.

Some rituals involve checking, eg. that the iron is unplugged, they may leave the house and have to come back several times perhaps for the fear if they don't the house will burn down and it will be their fault.

it feels like you've got a fear that follows you everywhere, and you thoughts are out of control. and when i'm doing rituals i can just tell something bad is goin to happen if i don't do them... but the rituals get so annoying. It's like... being in an ocean, and you have to dive under and hold your breath everytime a wave comes.

They think that something disasterous will happen if they don't do things in a ritualistic way.
