Head and Shoulders for dry scalp. Selsun Blue. Shampoo, rinse repeat.

It is hard to see how it can be both dry and oily at the same time.

Most people shampoo their hair too often. You can wet it everyday, but shampooing isn't necessary but twice a week or so. It takes the natural oils out of the hair.

Any shampoo that has a conditioner included can work just fine.

If you really have dandruff problems (really dry and flaky) then you should get a dandruff shampoo or see a dermatologist who can tell you what is really going on and prescribe something for you.

If your scalp is dry, I would recommend a very good moisturizing shampoo, try Suave or Thermisilk. If your scalp is flaky, use Head and Shoulders. If your scalp is dry wash every other day. If it is flaky or oily I would wash it every day at least once.

ok, this is going to sound really, really strange, but I got this tip from a professional hairdresser. I have a daughter with really, really oily hair and scalp, and she said to use dawn dishwashing detergent once a week to control the oil. And it works very well!!
I don't know about dry and flaky, but as a general rule, you should only wash your hair every other day at most, and should go every 3rd day or so. No more than 3 time per week. Hope this helps, God bless!!

I'm a hairdresser... my opinion is... Head and Shoulders brand shampoo has a dozen different formulas... they have really improve over the years... wanting to accommidate to the different needs of many hair styles and conditons... instead of H&S having just one kind of shampoo... now they have many formulas from a gentle formula for color treated hair to a dry scalp... I don't know all of them... but give it a try... and shampoo daily... and do the shampoo rinse/repeat as the directions say on the bottle...
hopes this helps!!!

You should not use Head and Shoulder because all it does is cover the
dandruff with wax. You should use Redken. For your Shampoo, use
either the dandruff control or the SOLVE and the califying
conditioner. You will notice a lot of dandruff because this has to cut
through any other products you may have used. After about a month, you
will notice less and less. Once you see to have rid of it, you will
only have to use it about once a week.

Selsun Blue is great for dandruf, but also for what you're describing. It's even a great shampoo for people with normal hair, but it will especially help your situatiion.
Wash your hair every other day. I can't tell if your scalp is dry or oily from your question, but every other day is always a good bet.

Warm olive oil will rubbed evenly on your hair and kept for about a 1/2 to an hour will bring back the shine. Wash with Johnson and Johnson shampoo and feel the softness. Don't blow dry. Towel dry and style to place with a little gel.

Head and Shoulders is good for flaky scalps. 1x a day should be fine.
