Meningitis is the inflammation of the menges, the covering of the brain. It has symptoms that range from headaches to soreness in the necks. It can be transmitted from one to another. Refer to the any health website (webmd, etc) for more info.

meningitis is an inflammation of the tissue surrounding the brain and spinal column. It is usually caused by an infective agent like a virus or a bacterium, yes, it can be highly contagious. The symptoms include but are not limited to high fever, severe headache, nausea, vomiting, motor dysfunction, coma and death.
