Build the fence!

To the poster who says that it will not only keep illegal immigrants out, but also US citizens in; why do you say that? Do you usually cross over the border illegally when you leave the USA? The borders will still be as open as they have always been - to those people who cross legally at manned border stations.

To those who say the illegals will just find other ways; sobeit - so when the determined ones decide to go to the more dangerous unfenced areas where they are more likely to die in the desert, don't their supporters start squawking to the rest of us about all the poor illegals who lost their lives "trying to get a better life!"

Let 'em dig their tunnels, they've done that all along, anyways - eventually, the tunnels get found and I would guess they will get found even more quickly than ever because there will also be high tech gadgetry along the fence to detect these things.

And, those who decide to go with the even more expensive and even more than ever dangerous coyotes, again, sobeit!

I would say that all of these people who would rather go to such extremes to enter the USA illegally, are obviously not the sharpest tools in the shed, to begin with, or they would instead either be working to do what they can to fix things in their own countries or else they would be knuckling down and doing the paperwork to get into the USA legally. Don't whine about how expensive it is or the wait - everything worth having is worth working for and waiting for! Didn't your parents ever tell you that little pearl of wisdom? As well, if one immigrant is trying to go to the USA to work in order to send money back home to help his/her family members, I would think that all those family members could throw their money together to pay for that one to get into the USA legally with a work visa, knowing he/she will be soon sending money back home to them all. Work visas are NOT impossible to get - as long as you do NOT have any communicable diseases or a criminal record. If you apply and are refused entry due to one of these reasons, then that is not the "go ahead" to come on in illegally. Or, if you do NOT apply because you know you will NOT qualify because of these reasons, then NO, that does NOT mean that you should come on in illegally! The fence is to help KEEP YOU OUT!

I think another reason pro-illegal immigrant supporters are against the fence is because they know that the illegals who are currently in the USA like to return home now and then and like to know that they can easily return the same way they came. TOO BAD! The fence IS going to be built! Let 'em climb their ladders, use their stilts, build their tunnels - regardless, it makes it just that tad bit harder for them and makes it just that tad bit easier to catch them as they are doing it. Enough to at least lessen the flow, which is far better than doing nothing whatsoever!

The fence, combined with many other strategies WILL get the message across, eventually!

First of all, I am a pro-illegal. They are merely taking advantage of our idiocy to achieve a better life. I sympathize with them for that. However, crossing the border doesnt solve any long-term problems, although it increases the immigrant's quality of life. We need to treat the root cause by pushing for economic reforms in Mexico. Also, we do need some sort of a border protection agency that does its job. However, a fence is just a way of delaying the problem. Eventually, the illegals will learn how to evade the fence. We need to treat the disease not the symptoms. A walls does not accomplish this. Police on the border works, but not uneducated idiots like the redneck minutemen.

Build a wall! I am sick and tired of everyone coming to this country illegally! Most come here from Mexico,Ecudor etc. have no skills, have too many children that they cannot pay for, and who pays for them all of us law abiding Americans. The government needs to put a stop to it and fast, stop giving them handouts, most live in apartments-10 to 12 to a unit, they drive around in expensive cars and get food stamps,while the rest of us drive around in junk and work hard to raise our kids without handouts, we probably couldn't get them anyway! Send them all back!These bleeding heart American's are making me sick.Everyone needs to stop catering to them, we did not ask them to come here, I for one do not want them here. Make them do it the right way.
