Endep is an old antidepressant. IT doesn't usually work very well but some doctors presribe it because it is cheap and other doctors don't know better because they aren't psychiatrists. It is sometimes prescribed for insomnia.

If you are depressed, see a real psychiatrist. New antidepressants have way less side effects and work better.

It is probably the depression that is affecting your memory. That symptom is called "thought blocking" and is pretty common.

Also, if you multitask or have a lot of things on your plate, you will forget things. If you are stressed out or are going through a worrisome time in your life, you might have your mind elsewhere and forget stuff.

DOn't worry. Just slow down some, get some good sleep (at least 5 uninterrupted hours per night), and consult a psychiatrist for a medication change.

Been there, done that.

Hope you feel better soon.

Information always helps. Yahoo! Health has some info on this drug. It lists some of the side effects. One thing it says that I think is important: Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
When in doubt, call your doctor!
Good luck!

I am in the same boat. I am so forgetful, and it is worrying me a lot. I am only 40, and it is scary!! I do need to slow down because I do have a lot going on and I do not sleep well at night! Thanks for all the good advice.

The 2 things that seem to help me with memory are getting enough sleep and not drinking too much diet soda. Something in the diet soda (Aspartame probably) seem to affect my memory.

for depression what worked best for me was welbutrin im no longer on it actually and i feel fine. but i would actually go to the doctor and talk to them about it. it may be something serious or something as simple as switching meds. but they should help. i really suggest that because something might really be wrong with you!! good luck
