I live in New Zealand and am considering living in Australia and going to university. The following are reasons why I LOVE Australia.

1) Great wildlife
2) Warm climate
3) Sandy long beaches and blue water
4) The theme parks in the Gold Coast
5) Shopping in open air malls in the evening
6) Friendly people

Most of we Australians like it. BTW we might be "laid back" (and we are) but Australians work longer hours than most people in the western world. On the average Americans work a few hours longer per year.

We don't have much in the way of earthquakes, tornadoes, ice storms or blue northers. We do have a lot of warm weather and not a lot of rain in most places. Plenty of blue skies though.

And another BTW. The British sent more convicts to the old 13 colonies before the American War of Independence than they did to Australia after it. The old 13 colonies were a lot closer.

I LIVE in OZ & it rocks, i ve travelled Europe, London and Ireland and we have the best lifestyle by far, If i was moving here i would stay out of sydney Melbourne(big cities) look at the Gold Coast or Newcastle(were I AM From) for the sporty party lifestyle, the sun and the surf, good night life and plenty to do and see with out the built up traffic and population of sydney.

Yes, I was born and still live here.

And why does everyone think that we have a laid back lifestyle?
As a University student I am constantly stressed with the work and I have to work two jobs just to keep up the money in my bank account!

If anything we already work too hard in this country, and with John Howards new Industrial Relations Laws, we all have to work even harder for less reward

I've never been, but I know a few Brits who have moved over there, including my brother and they all love it.
