No comparison between a good pint of Burton or Adnams and the pathetic excuse for larger that comes out of English kegs.

Only people who like tasteless fizz would disagree. I go to football with a bunch of CAMRA members so we tour the real ale pubs that are or have been in the Good Beer Guide. I don't like ALL real ales but there's usually something I'm happy to sink a pint of. There are some fantastic real ales out there and a hand drawn pint is so much better than some pressured pump that dishes out half pint measures - some people's taste buds however have just not developed enough for them to spot the superior taste of real ale!

Yes. There is absolutely no taste in extra cold lager. Try the Townes real ale at the Speedwell Inn , Staveley ,Chesterfield Derbyshire. It's brewed on the premises and it's delicious.

Really depends.
If the staff cannot serve the ale properly then real ale tastes awful.
For example, busy Friday night at Lloyds, Wetherspoons et al.
Spotty oik behind bar gives you a pint of out of date Marstons in a plastic pint.
This happens too often when the high street bars serve ale.

Real ale is without doubt the superior drink. But lager is better for drinking intensively, as it "goes down" easier. Remember, that with real ale, people prefer independent breweries. Lager drinkers don't care. I would much prefer 3 pints of quality ale, but 10 pints of lager. So, if you care about responsible drinking...
ps it is good to see evidence of a big company actually caring about what people think.

No No No No No!!! Ale is perfectly fine, but a pint of cold lager, particulary on a hot day or after work quenches your thirst so much better! Grab yourself a dark ('dunkel') German beer - range from 5%+ but taste fab!
