I am thinking about getting one soon. I am just nervous, because I might not like it. I already have a small teddy bear on my pelvic bone on my left side. Do you think that would be too much to have both? I don't want anything that is going to circle my back and stomach, that's tacky. Also if you have any ideas of what I should get please add that too. Thanks!

A tramp stamp is when you have you lower back tattooed. For those of you who don't know what that is.

I think the tramp stamp only applies if you, well, act like a tramp. I have a tattoo there. Its a pink and black yin yang with purple and green Hawaiian flowers around it. I love mine. I dont let it hang out all over the place or dres like a skank either though.
PS: I think you should get something colorful though.

Why would you want to be labeled a tramp? :-P I'm sure you aren't one though.
I mean, if you do get something there, don't get something like a butterfly or a tribal design. I only like tramp stamps if they are TRULY unique. (the one I'm planning is CRAZY and definitely not something most girls would get) I think the trashy ones are the ones that hang out of girls pants and ones with typical images (case in point the butterfly and tribal crap)
I don't think it's too much with already having one on your hip, then again, you're talking to someone who LOVES tattoos and piercings.
Have you considered other spots than the lower back? Maybe you can find a different place because if you are worried you won't like it, then you should not get it or at least think about it more. Just be careful with what you pick

Yeah, I agree that you should do whatever makes you happy but I do see the tramp stamp as a little trashy. It also depends if a girl gets it just so people have something to look at when she wears jeans or pants that are too low and you can see the entire lower back. My wife has her name in old english and it's more funny than anything. I always tease her and say it's so men will remember her name in the morning. I bet that was the origin of the tattoo.

I have a tribal on my lower back & I'm NOT a tramp. Most of the ladies that I know that have one there is also NOT a tramp. Just the label alone bothers me.
So unless your trying to convey that you are indeed a tramp then refer to it as the tat on your lower back. I think they are sensual & define a ladies curves. Most guys I know that have or don't have tats think they are sexy. I'm in a professional background here so I'm not talking about some Joe or little boys here either. You need to respect yourself before others can.
As for the design take some time at deciding what to get unless you can or have somebody that is good at drawing do you up one. Less detail the better. Focus on what it is.

When I was in college I thought those tats were super sexy on the right girl....of course there was always the girl trying to show hers off that didn't have any business exposing her waist line. I'm not trying to be a chauvanist here...just a realist...most people don't want to see that...skinny or fat...certain parts of your body aren't meant to be exposed....sadly..deemed by society...especially if the person is overweight.
Now, to answer your question...I think they are sexy if you pick out the right one that goes with your body and your attitude. You don't want some tribal art if it doesn't fit you. The best thing you can do though is go to the mall or a crowded city place...walk around a while and look for an older lady who though she'd be cool but jumping on the young hip bandwagon and having a tramp stamp blasted on her....you'll go eewww...that's nasty.. just as people will do when they see yours in 20 years.

I have a tattoo on my pelvic bone on the right, a butterfly. And a 'tramp stamp' honey whatever...my tattoo looks cool, if someone wants to feel its a tramp stamp then so be it so you go do what u want to do sweetie...by the way its the word "Blessed" its hot...i like it...having the two isnt too much as long as the one on your pelvic bone isnt huge and wraps around your entire side

I have a rose design across the bottom of my back. I love mine. Its a big turn on to my guy also. I'm not a tramp. I don't like for them to be referred to as a "tramp stamp". Just because you have tattoos that don't mean your any less of a person. Thanks. Good Luck

The lower back tat is so over done. but if you must put one there.. be different, don't just get flash off the wall. I hate to hear people talk to each other and say things like, "yeah my brother has the same piece on his shoulder" UGHHHHH Part of getting ink is being set apart from others, a glimmer of who you are that people can see. And if you already have negative connotations about such a piece, getting it done isn't gonna make you feel better about it. Trust me, you will always wonder if people are calling you names behind your back.. the same names you refer to now.

I have 4 tatoos, you wouldn't see them just looking at me though, and I'm not a tramp. I think that when you get your next tatoo, make it be something that defines who you are so you will never hate it!
