Note to all women: when you ask us if a dress makes you look fat, do NOT get pi$$ed-off if we say yes. You already knew the answer (unless you are legally blind) so why the hell did you ask?
While we are on the subject, never give us hints. Men don't take subtle hints, or obvious hints...just TELL us, for God's sake!
Also: don't tell us about a problem if you don't want a solution. That's what men do...go to your mama or friends if you want sympathy.
One more: never, ever ask a man what he's thinking. We will gladly tell you if we want you to know, damnit.

ok guys here is the fact that i tell my husbadn......you damn well better tell me if it makes me look fat or I will personally KILL you later. I know that I am not a fat woman. I am 4'11 I weigh 110-115lbs. BUT some clothes do not look good on me. DO NOT LIE TO ME!!!!! dang it threis nothing I hate more than a mouth full of BS!! OK guys. If I turn aound and I ask my 11 yr old daughter and she gives me a different opinion watch the heck out cause you will be in more trouble for not giving me the straight scoop!!!!!!!!!

why you might ask. I was 1 girl in a group of 6 guys. most woman can take the truth too just you know tell them nicley that another outfit would be better. you don't have to say that you make thoose pant look bad. jimmy crkets. oh yeah I knbow how men think (i have 3 of them here plus my husband.)
I love men they are more honest then woman love ya guys.

Just say honey don't ask me that question because there is no good way to answer it. That's what my husband tells me so I don't ask. A women can tell if she look bad or not in an outfit.

The correct answer, is to head off the question by saying to her that she looks hot before she has a chance to ask if she looks fat. Make sure you do not make your comment sound rehersed or planned even though it is. This way even if she asks, "Are you sure this doesn't make me look fat," you can say, "No way baby you are smoking."

I can tell you what my husband would say. It would either be "it's not terribly flattering, it does make your hips look bigger than they are," or "No, it accentuates your curves. You look very sexy!"
Either way, his answer would be truthful. But tactful!
Any woman who asks that question who is simply fishing for compliments deserves an inept answer.
I only ask if I truly want to know. And if I'm asking, it's usually because it DOES make me look fat. So I'm not horrified by the answer.

if the answer is truthfully yes, and she does look fat. just ask her to change into that "other" dress that you like so much better. you don't even have to go there. tell her that the other dress is sexier or fits her better or even better, the other dress is one of my favorites on you. she will appreciate that better.
