in islam there is a rule in quran can be clearly seen in this verse

(33. And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord is Allâh (believes in His Oneness)," and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allâh's (Islâmic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims." )
(2. O you who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do?

3. Most hateful it is with Allâh that you say that which you do not do)
also ( .44. Enjoin you Al-Birr (piety and righteousness and each and every act of obedience to Allâh) on the people and you forget (to practise it) yourselves, [13] while you recite the Scripture [the Taurât (Torah)]! Have you then no sense? )
all these verses ask muslims to practise what they preach and truly follow allah commands but what is amazing that after these verses allah ask us to be pateint cuz he knew its one of that hardest thing to keep yourself on the right path by saying whats right and also

apply it in your life
(45. And seek help in patience and As-Salât (the prayer) and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for Al-Khâshi'ûn [i.e. the true believers in Allâh - those who obey Allâh with full submission, fear much from His Punishment, and believe in His Promise (Paradise, etc.) and in His Warnings (Hell, etc.)]. )

for example in these verses ( 33. And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord is Allâh (believes in His Oneness)," and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allâh's (Islâmic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims."
34. The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better (i.e. Allâh ordered the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly), then verily! he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend.
35. But none is granted it (the above quality) except those who are patient, and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion (of the happiness in the Hereafter i.e. Paradise and in this world of a high moral character). )

I (try) each day to practice what I believe. As for 'preaching' ..I like what St. Francis said, "Preach always and use words only if necessary". I like that. The way you live your own life should speak for itself to others.
It's as important to listen and observe.

This question is irrelevant to most people because it is based on the Quran.

We understand what you believe to be true, but the rest of us "Know" the Truth because the Spirit of the Living God that lives inside of our hearts enables us to discern what is true and what is counterfeit.

God's word, that existed before Muhammed came along, tells us that the devil would come disguised as an angel of light to try and fool us.

But even common human sense gives us the wisdom to reject what the Quran says because it came from a mere man, Muhammed, who murdered people and robbed caravans for a living.

In a civilized society, when a 54 year old man, Muhammed, has sexual intercourse with a 9 year old "Child", and said his god told him to do it, they are put into prision to pay for their Evil deed, not looked up to as an example for righteous living!

It would be wise to listen to the words of Jesus, who never sinned, and has the power to rise from the dead, and is the "Only" way to have your sins forgiven.

Barb K. and I are much alike. We are both Christians and adhere to the principles taught in the Holy Bible. No one on this earth is perfect. We want to be, but fall way short. So there are none of us regardless of religious faith, that does everything we "preach".Some people are very good and do better than others. That is why it is so good to be a Christian. Christians are not perfect, Christians are forgiven.

Are you directing that question to Muslims or to Christians...If Christians then had we been perfect We would have no need for a Savior....and The Blood of Christ doesn't stop at salvation...it cleanse until Christ calls us home and until we receive our glorified bodies we will not be perfect....Just forgiven...Read I John 1:8 and also read I John 1; 9...

I only follow the word of God in the KJV Bible. And I do practice what I share with others that I have learned from God's word.
