hi, I'm Italian. the answer above is a good one!
i know only that on our mountains it is very cold, but while you're skiing you get warm! it's like for any other sport!

i live near mountains, in which region will you come?

ps. another good idea is the tracksuit for skiing. usually skiers wear it... under it you can wear what you want: warmer items or less warm one...

Go to a shop selling ski-wear. Try on the jacket and trousers in the shop. If you have freedom of movement and start to feel warm, those are the ones for you.

In addition, take plenty of layers on holiday with you, ie. lots of t-shirts. You might need to wear three at a time, depending how cold it gets.
