Yes. Any recent drug use will make you ineligible to donate sperm. If i was going to a sperm bank I would not choose a sperm that was giving by someone who smoked pot as most people wouldn't either. Be honest - people who may choose your sperm deserve to know the truth. Also, ask the clinic: there may be a rule that you can donate as long as you have been clean for a period of time.
Donating blood is completely different. They will prob take it, so if your looking to donate something to make money: try donating blood instead.
ibukitawa: Donating Sperm is very noble and there are many couples who could benefit. There are many rights each person (the donor and the recipient) have to waive in order to donate and or receive sperm. The people that receive can not legally go after the donor for support.

first of all, the person who said that sperm donation isn't confidential is completely wrong. it is confidential, well, at least in the US and a good deal of other places. too bad it is, really, cuz i know a lot of us would like to find our fathers. yes, i'm one of the hundreds of us that are offspring of anonymous fathers. it's hell to go throughout life wondering who "he" is and who i am since i don't know half of myself. passing every guy 20+ years older than myself on the street wondering if he's "him" can bring you down a bit- as well as having to ask every person you date what their dad's did when they were in their younger years (in the case that they might be your half-sibling). so, whether or not you have pot in your system, please don't donate your sperm. i think people don't consider enough the impact it'll have on the kid created, only that it'll be a quick fix to someone who really could honestly just adopt. people do pot to relax and get away from their problems, right? well, by donating sperm, ur just helping create more people who right from the start are conceived into problems by a problem...just something to think about

Why would you want to be a sperm donor?????? Nowadays is not confidential anymore, but unless you want some unknown estranged broad find your @$$ and sue you for child support, why would you????

I doubt it. I told the blood donors that I smoke daily, three to four times a day and they still took my blood.
