Hello! Your feline is a male and the reason that he feels that way it could be probably to get your attention depending on how long you have him and where does he sleeps. Try to have him in your room for a while; (Don't forget the cat litter) Then at the time you wake up, talk to him with warmth words, they like it when you talk to them and believe it or not...They do listen and also cuddle him, hug him, they feel the need of love just like we do. Please don't take me wrong but, animals have lots of feelings and they need them just like we do. Cats on the other hand, when they are not attended with these affections they go into depression. Most of the time when you give them the attention they seek, they turn very lovable and actually they don't meow as much but instead do funny noises. Mines...they are funny every day and only meow when they need water, food, their litter change and believe me...Cats are very smart and reliable when their owners treat them with love.Try it and you will see good results.

We don't allow our cats in our bedroom. We have to sleep so that we can get up the next morning and go to work to feed the little devils, we have to be able to get ready for work without the cat jumping in the middle of our toothpaste, and we like to dress without being pawed and yowled at. With cats in the room, it takes hours to do anything. We don't have hours.

Are we cruel? No, we run an animal shelter, and have learned the hard way what we can and can't do with animals running rampant around here :-)

By all means, if you are able, let the cats come in and cuddle. We have friends with 6 and 7 cats, and they all sleep together. Ours are much too active at night for this, so they are banned from the bedroom.

Yes, there is some yowling, but it stops after the new ones realize that door ain't gonna open. Yes, there are little feet reaching under the door, but we have to tough it out. We are the humans, and we have good jobs and can't manage on only two hours uninterrupted sleep each night.

How long has your cat been yowling? Is this a recent decision on your part? Did you let him sleep with you, and now can't handle it anymore? Or has he been doing this for a month? Please don't resort to stuff like spray bottles, smacking or other nasties. The cat just wants to be with you. If you really can't handle it, then let the door stay closed. He should shut up.

Altho we did have a very old one who yowled continuously if he couldn't see us, and we had to find a feline friend for him.

Good luck, and please don't resort to cruelty. Maybe a companion for the cat instead??? :-)

This is actually really funny because I have two cats and they do the exact same thing. If i shut the door they paw on it and believe me it's really loud. If I leave it open he jumps on my bed and licks my face and jumps on me and it just gets very annoying. Do you have a basement? Where is your cats food and litter box located? What i do is I shut my cat in the basement, which is convenient because that's where all of him stuff is so that he has everything he needs. The only problem is that my sister's room is in the basement so if the cat wants to get out...well I guess that she'll have to deal with him.

How I dare I close the door on my cats....LOL!!!!! I could never, they would not only be hurt but they would rip the carpet to shreds.....I can't even take a shower without them wanting to be in there.

However, it is so comforting to have my cats sleep with me. I may have to move them over in the middle of the night but my guys are great. My little guy sleeps under the covers right in between my husband and I and my 25 lb guy sleeps above my pillow. There is nothing sweeter than that.

Most cats will ALWAYS be on "the wrong side of every door." If they're outside, tlhey want to come inside. If they are inside, they want to go outside. If your cat is this kind of cat, then you can solve his "meowing" by leaving your door slightly ajar so he knows he can come in and go out. If he is not, then he is meowing to be with you. This second type of cat will usually curl up to sleep beside you or perch by the window to entertain himself while you sleep. Believe it ot not, I have one of each type of meower.

Cats can't stand closed doors. Could you go to bed with the door open a little so he can come in and be with you? There's nothing nicer than a cat curled up in bed with you, all soft and warm!

Give up, he's already won. Open door, get into bed and be prepared to have him snuggle into your arm pit...hehehe... I've had 3 cats that were that way and one that insisted on sleeping under the covers.

I had the same problem with my cats. You either get some ear plugs or let them in your room. They get lonely and scared at night too! Besides, it's the best love you will ever get when you let them in your room finally!

All he wants is the freedom to come and go. Just open the door enough for him to get in and out.
