They will have a BLAST!!!
Both are active breeds - cockers are a little more mellow than beagles but a lot more mellow than jack russells (we are talking perpetual motion machines here.)
Cockers used to have a bad rep about biting 45 years ago. That wss from being over-bred to satisfy popular demand like Goldnes and Labs now. Once the craze for cockers stopped, the serious breeders salvaged their breed. They are really quite little sweethearts and very loyal. Handled a whole kennelful for a show breeder in obedience.
JRs bark - a lot - and tear about but they don't have a mean one in their bodies (unless you are a rat or mole they are after.)
Beagles run - so do JRs. Do you have a fenced yard? It would be a very very good idea or at least an instant-install electric fence. (Go to the website for Drs. Foster & Smith - pet supply owned by vets, been around for years.)
At first give them each their own bed but I can virtually guarantee that within a couple weeks, they will be curling up together and inseparable.
How wonderful that you are adopting two who are close in age. They will be such great friends. Dogs are pack animals and crave companionship.
Both need obedience class particualrly given their breed types. They need to know that "come" is never optional.

Wow!! You are going to have your hands full!!! Jack Russels are aggressive, but that depends on the blood line. The beagle might make this Jack Russel a little bit calmer. The cocker is older and can defend itself well enough against the Jack if it needs to.
Considering the more aggressive breed of the two is considerably younger then the cockier will probably have dominance early on. I believe with that chain of command established, they will play and have a good time.
Just feed them separately, but walk them together and play with them together.
Hang in there, you have your work cut out for you with two small dogs and both new to the home!
Good Luck and Take Care

All I know is my cocker and my dads beagle LOVE each other and chase each other like crazy then curl up and cuddle together! Don't know about the jack side but I have known a few and they have been pretty sweet. They are all pretty young so I would think they would do just fine.

Jack russells can be dog aggressive, they're pretty hyper as well. As this one's crossed with a beagle, you can hope that he'll be more easy going with other dogs. If he's very shy, though, you need to socialize him as much as possible with people and dogs to prevent him becoming a fear biter. Getting him neutered should help a bit, too.
Introduce them carefully, socialize the young puppy a lot, and as he'll be raised with your cocker, you should be fine.

Dogs are as good as their upbringing... its a ***** and a dog you will have so there wont be any same sex dominance issues which is good. As for the male being shy, the ***** would dominate him anyway because they always do. My collie ***** dominated all three of my other dogs she was the top dog. And my male collie just accepted it he was very submissive towards her. So if he is shy then you wont have any problems my dog was aswell. The fact your cocker is good with other dogs helps because it means she probably wont bother with your new dog ie she wont see him as a threat to her dominance.

They should be fine. they are both very young and should be OK with each other. I don't think that you will have to worry to much. they shy one may not be the dominant one in their relationship together that may be all. Good luck
