Happened to me three times this week, and twice with the same group of people. I don't care if you are selling something, or politicking, or prostelitizing its against the law... isn't it to walk in without asking permission.

I have a lock, and use it most of the time.
I have three dogs, and one of those rude people let them out for me, so not only did I have this person in my house, but my dogs were wandering around the neighborhood. And I have called the police.

Never step aside.
Please, make it clear that they have to be really pushy to get past you.
Good luck.
OR: say you have a cat you don't want to let out, so you can't open the door.
Nah, I give up.
Call the cops.

There are those that think that just because they are a child of God, that that gives them the right to do what ever they want. Going into some ones house with out permission is called TRESPASSING, and is a fineable and jailable offense. All you do is call the cops on them.

Are these people you DON'T know?
I have a few friends that just walk in, but I'm pretty sure I would have to knock a strangers *** out. My pizza man even asks before he comes in.

In Texas we can legally shoot someone who enters our home without our permission. I'm not suggesting you do this, or move to TX and do this. I'm just saying.
Maybe that's why you should lock your doors.

It is ILLEGAL------------That is called "Entering".
similarly, if the door is locked and they break in
It is called -"Braking and Entering".
Lock the door ------------ post a note.
Call the Police if necessary and advise them that you WILL PREFER CHARGES !

I'd say lock your door but I don't like to do that. Confront them in a civil manner.

if they're in sales it could be a tactic to get more sales because it's harder psychologically to not listen to someone who is already in your living space, however, if you tell them to leave they must and if you tell them not to do it again they they aren't allowed and you could file charges on them... as for people who just do it... they're lonely and nosy and creepy... tell them to go to the local shelter and get a cat or dog

If it happens again tell them to get out or you'll call the cops. You have that right. They have no right to just come barging into your home like that.
