UMM its just a question out of curiosity. I am far too old to run away. Just wanting insight into who else did it when young.

I think everyone ran away from something as kids. Whether it be home, or a bad situation were you didn't want anyone to find you. I must have ran away hundreds of times. Each time lasted about 8-10 hours, but I have done it. It is just a way to get away for a while and let out some steam.

i tried, but thank God i did not, because i started thinking about some kids less fortunate than me, like living in very poor place, no food to eat, maltreated by parents. I always think why should I, i have a loving parents, great place to live, tv, video etc.. all i have to do is just do a few chores, homework, obey house rules and mostly just being a kid. What is a hard part of that? i know because i don't get what i want. Just keep in mind that still you are lucky.

Yes i ran away and i was gone for a long while, struggling to make it. no it isnt always the best thing to do if you have nothing to back you up and you can't support your self on. first you need to get your things straight and then run away. but even if you do run away make sure that you are acting because you are in a situation that is putting you in danger and you have to get away and not just because you are acting on a impulse. think it out before you do anything that dramatic

Yes but the cops brought me right back. I was a cops daughter. Guess you really can't go very far when your dad is a cop. That was 36 years ago. Wow! It doesn't seem that long ago but it was. I made it to the next town before the cops found me and brought me back. I was 16 years old at the time.

i hated it at home. much more mature than my step father gave me credit for, so when i ran away at 16 i stayed gone until i hit rock bottom with no where to go (maybe 2 months) i then called mom and went to a job corps.the best decision i could have made a that age.
job corps is a government funded learning center for teens. you live on campus and study a trade.

I did and it lasted untill I got tired of running and then came back!
It was fun, ini restrospect it makes sence to me more then then. Obviously I neede to walk, and I so did.
LAter on I have walked out of home and have not returned untill this summer after about 8 years or so. And to me my walking out of home when a kid shows some kind of courage and some kind of drive to go out there!

I ran away because my mother was horrible to me...I ran away when I was 9 to my stepmothers house because I was afraid of being physically abused by my mom...you know what is funny..children's aid did nothing about it!
