Your best bet is to be upfront about it with each teacher. Apologize and let them know you've matured enough now that you realize getting an education is the best way to get you ready for the real world: working, parenting, etc. It might be helpful to also go to the principal and let him/her know that you regret your frequent absences, but now you understand the value of school and you're ready to take on the responsibilities of attending. Then follow through with good attendance and giving your schoolwork your best effort. If you need any help along the way, ask your teachers--they'll be glad to know you're interested.

Apparently Christy didn't actually read the question!
Okay, I used to do this in college all the time. I would get so nervous about going back, I would cut again! Talk to your teacher first. Don't volunteer any info, if she asks, either make something up or just be honest, depending on what you think the reaction will be. It's important that you go back. Try to gt caught up on what's been going on before you go back, that way you won't be too scared! Good luck!

The truth is always the best. It also helps to get what you have missed in homework and tests and complete them even if you won't get any points for them. This will show your teacher that you want to do the work and are willing to do what is necessary to earn their trust. Teachers love that. It also has the added benefit of making sure you actually know the material because you will learn more that builds on it in the future.

If you have a note excusing you, that's all the explaination they need. I hope you're getting help for the cutting. I know it's hard to stop (not from personal experience, but I know someone who cuts). Take care of yourself. Maybe you should just answer with, "I don't want to talk about it right now," if the question comes up.

Relax, try making a fake note excusing your absences. if a teacher asks, just tell him/her" i was dead but i came back 2 life" with a straight face and they wont bring up the subject again

you always have the option of not wanting to go into it. if its pushed then ask to do it in a private confidential setting. most of all, if you feel you need to talk, its better to do that then harm yourself any further. they only ask because they are worried about you. do the best you can. good luck.
