Means between men only. Women excluded, as well as children. Woman to woman means excludes men, but does not necessarily mean excludes kids. Cuz it's kinda hard sometimes, not when the baby needs the mother nearly most of the time. And impossible when the baby is still in the womb. The quality may range between zero to ten, in the Richter Scale, or whatever earth shattering scale you want. But the important thing is the exclusion factor. It is of utmost importance that women are excluded, especially when they are the subject of man to man talk. Such as "Ok. Don't tell her we're going to the pub late tonight. I've already told the Missus that we have overtime. If you tell your wife, she's sure to have a woman to woman talk with mine."

Man About A Dog

To see a man, to see a man about a dog, or to see a man about a horse is usually a smiling apology for one's departure or absence, used as a bland euphemism to conceal one's true purpose. The phrase has several meanings but all refer to taking one's leave for some urgent purpose, especially to go to the bathroom or going to buy a drink. During Prohibition, "to see a man about a dog" often meant to go meet one's bootlegger. The phrase "see a dog about a man" is also sometimes used.

Wow, I thought only my dad uses that expression!
it means the person has to go the restroom. I have no idea where the expression came from. I just know it is really old.

I think the phrase is "I need to go see a man about a horse." It's a way of trying to get out of a tricky conversation or situation by pretending you have an appointment elsewhere.
I think it came from men trying to avoid argument with authority figures (cops, their wives, etc) by claiming they were getting a hot tip or settling a bet regarding a horse race.
