Ok so im in AIT at the moment training to be a 42A. I joined the army national guard, and am thinking about going active. The prob is is I hate my MOS so far. The list of job options was short at the time and i figured it would be the best. I really wanted animal care specialist. Could I change my MOS if I went active? Would I lose my bonus? Honestly though I would rather have a job I liked.

you will need a DD368 from the Regular Army Recruiter that your commander has to sign, thereby conditionally releasing you from the NG as long as you go active.

At the MEPS, the guidance counselor will try to push you towards your old MOS, BUT, you can get a new MOS, depending on the line scores from your old ASVAB.

Do you have some style of contract with the nationwide take care of? in case you do, i don't think you are able to bypass lively till that contract is up yet i should be incorrect. so some distance as changing your MOS, many times you are able to not do this till something comes up like re-enlistment or maybe then they won't have the interest you opt for. so some distance as your bonus is going, what become it for? become it for enlisting as that MOS or in simple terms re-enlisting? that's why i'm asking in case you have some style of contract/minimum quantity of time you're able to desire to do with the nationwide take care of. without understanding those issues it quite is confusing to grant you an answer. i could arise with the recruiter that helped you the 1st time and see what they permit you recognize. they are consistently finding to make greater quota factors.

Such a good question you had to ask it 5 times. Learn what the return button is for, and your education will improve.

Why don't you talk to your recruiter or your "career counselor" or your "chain of command?"
