I have a Mini DV tape of my Baby Shower, but can't seem to find a VHS converter for it, so I can watch it with a VCR. I'm not even sure if there are converters for Mini DV's.

Mini DV is digital, so there's no direct way to persuade an analog VHS player to read it. The way to convert it is to borrow a mini-DV camcorder. Connect the video and audio outputs from the camcorder to the inputs on a VHS VCR with the appropriate cables, hit "record" on the vcr and "play" on the camcorder.

If you want to preserve the quality of the mini DV video, and make it more convenient to play, transfer the video from the camcorder to a computer over a firewire or USB cable, then burn it to DVD.

No, they do not make a mini dv convertor for vhs, your only option is to use an av cable to plug your camcorder into your vcr and then press play on your camcorder and record on the vcr, or plug your camcorder directly into your tv

If you can play your tape in a camera, and a way to connect the camera to a TV set or you have a RCA or S-Video aout, then you just need the right wires, wich are so easy to get from any electronic store, including Radio Shack, Circuit City or Best Buy.

You may even have a standard cable set, wich is often a yellow white and yellow reset. Yellow is Video, White is left audio and red is right audio.

Just connect it from the camera Output, to the VHS INPUTS. If only yellow and white, dont worry, it means you will only record sound in mono (one audio channel only).

That is why a convertor is not required.

Do it before your baby grows a muctache, and have fun!
