My best friend is a varsity basketball player, and straight A student with two extra classes yet she only eats once a day. That's not good considering what she does in a day. She's not fat being 5'11 and only 145lbs. How can i help her eat, worried that she might be anorexic. She's been depressed over a guy lately, how can i show her that she has a lot to live for and that she's a special person?

She might have alot of pressure on her to keep her grades up and be a varsity player. WIth all that on your plate you might be pre-occupied.
Bring snacks to her practices and snacks to class and offer some to her.
You know yourself that relationship woes make you loose your appetite. But..... if she is depressed then you need to speak to her family and let them know....
She sounds great and you can't make her feel great about herself, if she doesn't..
Have a get together with your mutual friends and host a party in her honour for all the great things she is and does... Have a roast and have everyone talk about her....serious, funny whatever... I think this might really touch her spirit...
If you know the guy problem, talk to her about it. If you can help, do something .....if not let it lie.....
If she is suicidal, get help from the counsellors at your school....

don't leave her alone. Whenever you get the chance ask her what is wrong or are you okay? I 'd know I've been there. Were she is i mean. Not that I was a good student though. I stink at sports but love it. But I do know how it feels. It just gets worse when my friend gives up on asking me whats wrong. She just gives up and goes on without any care.
