Also, could any speakers of Chinese please recommend similar names for my Chin Dog please?

P.S. Do not put stupid 'funny' answers. I'm going through each one and reporting them.

Only helpful actual chinese please.

'xie xie' actually means 'thankyou' in chinese - i know a little so unless you actually speak fluent or very good chinese you're not going to be very helpful - sorry.

Xiao shi could be little soldier but my dog is called A'do which was the name of an emperor or sometimes Xiaogou (little dog)
There are a few sites you can use to translate names like hanyu.com but naming after a famous hero is more interesting I think

Pug, Boston Terrier, Jack Russell Terrier, Yorkshire Terrier, Beagle, these are all awsome breeds that can be GREAT family dogs! I am not a huge fan of smaller dogs but know of many since i am a certifide vet. All these dogs also have lots of energy and are great for kids all ages. the beagle is the one that barks alot. the yorkshire terrier is the most expensive and can cost a large chunk of cash. the jack russel terrier has the most energy and will need lots of playtime. these are all popular breeds and you WILL NOT have trouble finding a local breeder or shelter. Good Luck!

I checked Babelfish to get some translations and it turns out that:

little warrior = 小战士 (xiao zhanshi)
little guardian = (this one is totally irrelevant as the word that comes out is actually the guardian who helps take care of children)

Well, to be honest, I don't like the above translation though it may be accurate. Here are some of my own suggestions:

小军人 (xiao junren) or 军军 (junjun) for little soldier
小天使 (xiao tianshi) for little angel
Tiantian is quite a cute name. It can mean "days" or "sweetness".
狗狗 (gougou) is what I call my dog sometimes. It means "doggie".

By the way, what breed is your dog? I don't really get what you mean by "small chin dog".

i'm not fluent, but i know enough to give some reasonable suggestions.

warrior or hero is zhuang4shi4 壮士
another term for warrior is wu3shi4 武士
fighter... dou4shi4 斗士
bodyguard bao3biao1 保镖

"small" of course is xiao3 小
so i think a good one might be xiao3zhuang4shi4 小壮士.

if you ever need to look up chinese characters i find www.zhongwen.com to be really useful.
