Stop thinking about what you can buy and think about what you can do.

For my 5 month anniversary, I made a slideshow (using something as simple as Windows Movie Maker) of pictures of my boyfriend and I together and set music to it. (i used "our" song) and he absolutely loved it.

Why not try something like that? It's sweet, and cost effective. ;)

Think of all the little things that he likes (ie his favorite movie, book, candy etc), buy a variety of them and then go to Walmart, Target or a craft store and buy a basket and some netting and make him a basket. If you want, you can also add a few thing that the two of you can enjoy, like sexy undies, bubble bath and things of that nature. I did this for my guy about 2 years ago for Valentine's Day and he loved it. It may seem cheesy but he has told me and I have overheard him telling others how thoughtful it was.

Throw him a party. Have his close friends and family. This will make him feel very special. Then have a special time at end of nite for just the two of you. Give him a homemade card with something meaningful between you and him. (maybe a saying or a trip down memory lane.) Then put on something he would like and show him how special he is. (men just cannot get enough sex) Remember it's about him.

Aw, congratulations! Take him on a short but sweet trip. Go someplace a few hours from home, take one night or a full weekend. If you have a beach or a cute town you've never spent time in nearby, go there. Take him to dinner, get a little hotel room, and have fun hanging out together. He'll remember that and appreciate it more than any gifts.
