That's just how cats are. They show their affection through cuddling and through playing. Take it as a compliment it means that your cat sees you as a friend and part of it's family, just don't let him get to rough with you.

in case you performed pretend attack video games or play-fought with the little guy whilst he's a kitten that must be why. My sis and that i the two have been given a kitten on the comparable time. She performed kind of (effectively) with hers and that i could gently scold mine whilst he bit me. the end result's my cat would not chunk and hers thinks she's Freddy Krueger. additionally, cats could do this for interest. As my cat Galway (yet another cat) grew previous, she could have little "freak outs" the place she'd be quite candy and then snap and slap my face or chunk my nostril- the vet stated it become a behavioral ingredient that cats sometimes improve- they have "senile" moments the place they revert lower back to jungle-kitty and then in the present day snap out of it. stable luck. i opt for to advise gently tapping the cat on the nostril and saying no in an organization voice. one greater ingredient- i observed you pronounced staring into your cats eyes- they are able to view this as a project of varieties in case you keep eye touch for extremely long. i've got had cats that should with courtesy ward off there eyes in a teach of submission and that i've got had a pair that should bounce at me mutually as seeming to cite Robert Deniro from Taxi driving force- "You lookin' at me?"

He's most likely just trying to play with you. He probably doesn't realize that he is hurting you or that he is playing too rough when he does that gently swat him on the butt and firmly tell him no and tell him that hurts when he does it. Believe it or not cats are very smart and he should catch on after getting swatted a couple of times that it is not cool to do that!

He considers you HIS. You are his human, his companion, his playmate. Humans don't own cats, cats own humans. He wants to "assert his dominance" by being the agressor in play. He's saying he's the "boss". However, like most males, he's not about to pass up on some "easy lovings" either. The cat is saying thank you for being his best buddy and for taking care of him and putting up with him. He knows how not to burn any bridges LOL.

Because cats are fickle creatures - kinda like women. A dog's love is usually unconditional.

I have a cat. I never ask the question, "why?" They just do stupid things. Especially my calico. She's possessed!
