Yes, it still could be. Anorexia isn't just about losing weight, it's a psychological disease and often it's about control, and the feelings associated with being able to control something, especially food. If this behavior is you that you've asked about, you might want to take a good hard look at what is going on with your life. It could be nothing, I don't know your personal situation. And your question is very open-ended, there are a lot more factors in determining if someone is anorexic. But it's detrimental to your physical AND mental health to have a well-balanced diet.

I am not sure it is necessarily anorexia, but it IS a eating disorder and is unhealthy, no matter the technical term. You need to talk to a doctor and get a check up. You could be doing this as a form of control, do you feel depressed or like your life is out of your control? I would suggest you talk to a therapist.

A person can condition themselves to ignore their hunger, and end up starving his or herself. People who are anorexic don't usually have the ability to see that they are sick.

Feeding your body nutritious foods within your calorie recommendations, according to your weight to maintain health is the best bet. Don't wait until you are starving to eat.
But no, people shouldnt eat if they are just bored or sad or what have you.

If a friend of yours were to use this comment as a defense, don't buy it without asking more questions.

Nope. Anorexia is a disorder in which you don't eat regardless of whether you are hungry or not, out of fear of gaining weight or from trying to lose weight.

Unless you aren't eating because you have no time or no food, then yes...it's a type of anorexia. Why else would you be starving yourself unless your fasting? I think the person may be in denial for why they are not eating.

Well, that depends. If you don't eat when you are hungry because there is no food available to you, then it is not.
If you don't eat because you are busy, but eat later, it is not.
If you just choose not to eat for the hey of it, it might be.

I think it's more of a symptom of depression.
The term "anorexia" is mainly used for people who want to be skinny and go to extreme lengths just to be that way.

Hope that helps :-)
