Would say you have a air temperature thermostat not working properly causing a more lean mixture in your combustion. You should smell or notice a darker smoke coming from exhaust it this is so. You could also have a leaking egr valve, if this is problem you may at times stall or try to stall at stop signs etc..

Check your plugs and wires, most likely a tune up will work, a couple other things to check are your fuel filters, and, if it's just started doing this recently, you may have gotten gas with water in it. Run some fuel treatment through (I like outlaw brand), and if this clears it up, then you should be fine. With an older vehicle, it's a good idea to run higher grade fuel.

Dodge shadows are notorious for oxygen sensor failure. Change that part first.

Check that you don't have too much oil in the crankcase. Make certain the timing isn't off and get a tune up.

make sure oil is the right weight and isnt filled up too high, some oils can be thick if its really cold out, other than that you could try checking out your spark plugs and fuel system for any faults

Your first choice is to get rid of it and your second choice is to go take it to Dodge to get it fixed.

temp sensor may be reading hot,pull wire when cold to check
