You are a genius. Unfortunately, even a genius can't speak for God.
Religion should be a good idea. In any interaction, we have to have a basis. Humans use language to talk to each other and religion is supposed to be the interface between humans and God. It doesn't always work very well, so it seems like the equivalent of poor telephone or internet service: it isn't perfect, but it's something. I mean, we can complain if our internet service isn't meeting our expectations and perhaps some improvements will be made, but when we complain, is getting disconnected what we really want?
You are a genius because- unlike many others- you see that God is one thing and religion is another. Some people who are not geniuses seem to think that religion and God are one and the same. It isn't me, I'm just saying...
I imagine that God wants me to take responsibility for myself. So if I am using an imperfect tool to interact with God, I think God would want for me to fix my tool.
Just guessing.

I don't think that God ever really wanted us to have these organized religions that we have today. He said that we should get together and worship him, but I think people have took it way to far.
People in general like to look at others mistakes to feel better about themselves. Church's just seem to be another thing some people use to find fault in others. It shouldn't be that way, and I'm sure the churches were not based with this idea in mind but unfortunately human nature has gotten in the way.
God would be ashamed of the way some of us have represented him here on earth.

That most do not follow the words in the bible or Torah and etc. That some interpret and use religion for their own personal gain.
