my sister thinks my GF is saying that because she wants to get married and she is using the thought of us breaking up to get me to propose. Does this make any sense? And do you think my sister is right?

I think she is saying it becasue she wants to break up with you. But becasue she is a woman and they generally cant communicate directly, she may be testing you on the marriage thing. Kind of like doing the "take away" close in sales.

Your sisters point of view is different. Personally, if i was in the mood for marriage, the guy would know it. Think... Has she given you any signs that she wants to grow old with you, have a beautiful wedding, or told you what style ring she likes? Otherwise, she may just not feel your commitment, the break might renew both of your feelings toward eachother, maybe that is what she wants. If you still want to be with her, don't let her get away, let her know you still love her.

Maybe she does want to get married and 4 yrs is enough time for her to devote to one guy. Maybe she wants a break to see if she would be better off moving on rather than waiting for you. Its not like she's giving you an ultimatum.

She wants a break because she wants to go out and f*ck other guys. She probably has someone in her sights as we speak. Usually this is the path a guy takes in the relationship so I guess she's the one who wears the pants in yours.

she might want to see if she can live w/o u. let her go for a little bit. if u LOVE her enough to marry her and u and her have talked about it that might be the reason.
