I have a juvenile DUI warrant for not showing up to court. The judge gave me a year probation for drinking underage and got away with a couple of fines. The case was closed but i never showed up for the routine monthly check-in to see how everything was going with my probation and stuff. I called the court and they said i had a warrant and plus im violating probation because i stopped seeing my probation officer because she said if i come to see her she has to arrest me for having a warrant with the court, so she said to settle that and come back to her. OKAY, now the problem is i have to go to Washington DC to attend a funeral and i know nothing will happen while going to DC but im afraid when i try to come back to california where the warrant was issued ,im going to get arrested or something. I mean its not like im going out of the country, im just going out of state where you dont even need a passport to travel. Im stressing.. please some helpful answers. thanks

I will tell you what.....you will be arrested and the longer you wait to do the right thing the worse the consequences will be. You may need to bow out of the funeral.

You are breaking the law every second that you are not behind bars. You should be ashamed of yourself for asking us this on an open forum. Turn yourself in and become a responsible citizen. If you fly under your real name you won't make it to DC silly. And, if you get arrested in an airport it is going to be 10 times as bad because you will be trying to cross state lines. Go turn yourself in. The airports keep an eye out for normal looking people like you while letting the real Muslim-Arab looking bombers walk through the gates because of liberal political correctness. You would have an even harder time getting there without getting caught if you were an 80 year old woman in a wheelchair.

The last time I went through an Airport, they don't run your criminal record. Which means you should be fine to go to the funeral. If your name is not on a watch list (which minor warrants for yours most definitely is not) then you will not raise any flags while passing through the security and whatnot. Relax, go to the funeral, and deal with your warrant problem when you get back.

If you fly, they will cross reference because of national security your name to active warrants.

The state of California will be notified, and they may ( but most likely not) have your arrested and held. You may be detained by airport TSA while they wait to hear if they state wants you held or not

What do you think they are watching the entire Calif. borders for you? You need to grow up and be responsible for your actions!! You should be afraid! Get back and get an attorney to fix your problems. Work for the money and pay the bills yourself. It's so easy to STAY OUT OF TROUBLE, if you just use your head!!!

advise your po that you need to attend out of state....you have to get permission....because of the fact that you are currently in violation of your probation you may be considered a flight risk...hope it was worth it!
