b. World War II only. The Japanese bombing Peal Harbor is what brought the United States into the war. Pearl Harbor is in Hawaii, which is part of the the U.S. At that time the Philippines was also an American territory (although shortly after the War ended the Philippines gained its independence). The Philippines was occupied by the Japanese during WW2, and had been American territory for almost 50 years when it was attacked. Some of the Aleutian Islands in Alaska were also occupied by the Japanese during WW2. As far as I know, those are the only instances in the wars you mentioned, although there were probably other island territories in the Pacific the Japanese attacked that I'm just not thinking of at the moment. There are also numerous examples in the 1800s where American territory was directly involved in warfare, but those were conficts not mentioned in your list.

There are many wars where there was an attack on US territory, however, I believe there was just one war where there was an attack on a state (which was a state at the time of the attack) and that is the civil war.
