This is by far the best question you have ever written! Firstly, it is impossible for us to not sin. It's in our thoughts words and deeds. We are sinful by nature. It is in our very blood. So there is no way to go to heaven based on that. God hates sin and since we are sinful we cannot stand before God. That is why in the Old Testament everyone died and went to hell. Except Enoch, he didn't die God took him away because he walked with God. We need Christs Blood to cover us so we can appear righteous before Him. It is the only way. Sin seperates us from God, but Jesus brings us back to Him with His sacrifice. God loves us so much. God Bless you. Have a nice day.

Over time man has created many Gods because he doesn't want to die then he goes out to kill those who worship God in a different way. Jesus wanted a Kingdom of Heaven to replace the Kingdom of Herod where taxes were excessive... somewhat like today. The biblical idea of going to heaven is that only by being forgiven of your sins can you go to heaven. The ten commandments should be things to live by, but the thought behind them is that you can't help but break them.

It does not matter how 'good' one is, that is not what will get you into heaven. Take a look at the life of Abraham, what was his faith? It was a faith that WORKED. If your faith is not a working faith then it is dead which is as good as no faith at all. How do you work you faith? Obey God, have the faith of Jesus, His faith was in His Father the God of all creation including being the God of Jesus. We must do the good works of faith and have a trusting relationship with God. Other wise ---------------- POOF!! I do not advocate a works program, But a program of a working faith. Nor do I advocate a faith only program, that does not work ether.

Jesus' dyiing for our sins is the biggest lie ever told to Christians.
He came only for the lost sheeps of Israel.Matthew 15:24... which means his works was only framed to bring Israel back to its losing grip to their religious traditions which was seemingly being turned to the Roman way of life.
God in the Old Testament have declared in the following.
Deuteronomy 24:16 Fathers SHALL NOT be put to death for their children NOR the sons shall be put to death for their father's.- each is to die for his own sin.
Ezekiel 18:3-4 "As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, you will no longer qoute this proverbs in Israel, For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son-both alike belong to me. The souls who sins is the one to die."
Ezekiel 18:20 The soul who sins is the one to die.The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be credited to him and wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him."
If that has been declared long ago by God Himself, where is the need for Jesus to die for the sins of the world? Do you think that Jesus was send because God changed His mind?
Numbers23:19 God is not a man that He should lie nor a son of man that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?
So who do you think is bragging, if someone say to you that he has earned his way to heaven because he was righteous by following God's command? Who has imprisoned you believe that Jesus is the only way? It is your goodness that will carry you back to God. Not the affiliation with him because no matter how many times you call on Jesus name (even if you tattoed it on your whole body), he will even deny you if you did not live in righteousness.

David,
You are a Christian. Stop this evil and deceptive form of missionizing. It degrades Christianity.

. It is, by definition, impossible for it to be "jewish" to believe in jesus. "Jewish" is, by defintion, what jews have historically and contemporarily believe. Since in neither scenario do we find "believing in jesus", then we must clearly realize that belief in jesus is not something "jewish". You can call it "biblical" (and still be wrong), but certainly not "jewish".
. On the side, the subject of Isaiah 53 is promised a "long life" and "seed" (i.e. physical children). Clearly this isn't about jesus.
. And Isaiah 7 is clearly not messianic if you read the whole chapter. and "alma" doesn't mean virgin either. You'd know that if you spoke hebrew (I guess learning basic hebrew wasn't part of your "extensive jewish upbringing", huh?)
. On the side, Isaiah 9 can't be about jesus since, according to christianity, he's the "son" not the "father" (as the verse states). Nor did he have control of the government (to the contrary, the roman government killed him). And he certainly did not establish "endless peace".

oh, and lastly, I've decided that you truly epitomize everything I find intensely intellectually unsatisfying about christianity.

Jesus died for our sins because we are not good enough to get to heaven on our own.

We are saved by believing in Jesus and His offering Himself for us.

Take care and God Bless You,
Troy

The Bible says "for ALL have sinned and fallen short of God's standard.

There is no one righteous, no not one.

We were without hope because of our sin, but God sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world to take the punishment upon Himself which you and I deserved, which is a free gift of salvation offered to each one of us.

We can ask God to forgive us, repent, and determine to live our lives God's way.

There is a way which seems right unto man, but in the end it leads to death.

Jesus said: I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father, but through me.

He didn't die for me or anyone else. He died because he was a charismatic cult leader who was screwing the game up for the religious leaders of the day. The Romans didn't particularly care about him, but they killed him to get some semblance of peace restored.

This was a political killing. Not some magical blood sacrifice.

I don't have to worry about it either way. If YHVH is the true god, I'm assured of heaven. Thank you for your concern.
