Yes. Either many of these people are illiterate or just plain lazy. Either way, they should not complain when people poke fun at the misspelled words because they can avoid the ribbing simply by using "check spelling."

I think you are expecting way too much, it's not like there is a 'Check Spelling' button/link above the question/answer box on the right side or anything!

I think it's partly a case of people being careless and typing too quickly.

But it is astonishing how horrible some of the spelling is.

Yes, that and the total lack of grammatical structure. The questions don't even make sense! Did you read the one that said "i got a mad at me..." Is it that hard to re-read what you've typed? The short hand drives me nuts, too. You know, it takes so long to type "you" instead of "u." Between the abbreviations and the sentence structure it's hard to read most of the questions.

yes, but sometimes spell check does not notice the word & correct, so just forgive them & move on, take care

I have noticed and find it appalling. I think bad spelling makes people appear ignorant.

Most are just in a hurry and mis-type. Some don't use spell check. A few are poor spellers. What's your point? :)
