Religion and spirituality are not exact sciences. Unfortunately, nothing completes a person's understanding of God except a lifetime of trying to be closer to God and even then, our best ideas are still incomplete. This is a difficult thing to understand and this understanding may completely elude underdeveloped souls.
So you understand "love thy neighbor" and "judge not". That is very good. Now it is time for you to decide on the best way to share your wisdom with others. Remember that it is hard to give advice to someone who didn't ask for advice- exactly what I am doing here.
The person you are talking about has obviously missed the real message of Christianity so far, but who knows why? A new convert trying to bolster his self-esteem? A non-Christian trying to provoke? A bored teenager?
Real Christians know what you are talking about, but the person who wrote the hateful words won't know. People misinterpret when it meets their personal needs to do so. It's called justification. It can be used for a lot of bad logic, always according to an individual's need to look away from the truth.
I think this is the answer that will help you understand.

I tend to think this person is not a believer. A true Christian would never state such a thing and would seek to share the Gospel with those who are lost, not ridicule them for being where we all were at one time. Plus, Christians know how to use a spell checker.

pitiful? No, and why? If you feel pitiful for someone else, that someone else might just bite you when you turn your back. Let's face it, there's a reason why it's very hard to reach the highest goal in every religion. There will always be those who justify their every action in the name of their deity. Which of course is blasphemy and against the original intent of the religion. But you can't stop them, all you can do is be a better person for yourself and for others.

We all suffer from human failings. Insecurity, from getting
pushed around. Leading to self-righteousness and hypocrisy,
(pointing the finger at others), to escape our own pain.
This is why so many have bad attitudes toward religion. Because of being hurt by people who claim to be spiritual, yet have not overcome these things. And are therefore poor representatives of what they propose to preach.

Let's say that they did end up with ring side seats to the suffering in Hell, that would get boring pretty fast. Plus the laugh might be on them Maybe they get ring side seats to praising God forever while seeing the rest of us party all the time.

He isn't a Christian. He is some teenage goofball trying to get attention. Look at this other questions. There is a lot of that here. Don't think that any Christians would think like that.

Exactly the comments I get from my Evangelical brother and sister. Obviously they aren't interested in converting me to Christianity!

The saddest part of it is that those who behave this way really believe what they're saying.
