Sounds like he had two dates at once and chose the other girl.
I'd probably drop him.

Someone would really have to know your classmate to know how to interpret this. I'm the kind of guy who might do something just like you described because I like to make friends and I treat all female friends much nicer than I would ever treat a male friend. From this point of view, he may have just been being friendly.
On the other hand, he may be seeing if there's any mutual interest on your part because he's thinking about ending his current relationship. That would make sense if his girlfriend is going to be upset just because another girl approaches. I don't think friends have to be the same gender unless it's romantic. In fact, my absolute best friend is a female that is not my girlfriend. Like I said, we'd really have to know him to know how he thinks.

Sounds like he likes you. It sounds like his friends may be the ones that have a problem with it. I think thats nice that he said sorry and offered you ice cream. I wouldnt fell stupid if your not offended by his race than I see no reason to feel stupid!

Friend:
He is not into you! He is just being nice after his galfriend was rude and felt bad bailing out of a date with a classmate! Get over your wishful thinking he is not interested in you! Good luck

nothing.
follow my lead.
He should feel stupid.
Also, why the emphasis on race, the gender is enough. Do you think a jealous white/asian/latino girl would have acted any different?

This guy is a PLAYER and he "wants to have his cake and eat it too". I would stay as far away from him as I could if I were you, its trouble waiting to happen.
