Whole heartedly agree with Pauline ,panic attacks are terrible and all you get from other people are pull yourself together,It is your nerves I reckon as I am the same at the moment ,sounds stupid but when I feel one coming on I sing ,during the night I make myself a warm drink and read,Mine started after my heart attack and every little pain in my chest I think another is coming ,I agree with Pauline anxiety causes pain and nerves ,it is so hard nobody seems to understand and they won`t until it happens to them,is there no,one you can talk to when you get like this because believe me if you are confident there is someone on the end of the phone you will feel a lot better, you are not alone and it is a horrible thing to go through ,keep your chin up it won`t last forever,

stop smoking, go to the doc for any underlying problems. Anxiety and panic attacks are terrible. I suffered from them for about twenty years and then I started going out on my own and slowly they have reduced, I still get them but not so often. The feelings in your chest are because of the anxiety and the rush of adrenalin when you panic, this makes your heart beat faster hence the feeling you are going to die. I dont know why you are on steroids they are used for many things and can cause the symptons you describe, are they for your asthma or another reason ? All I can say love is if you have one of these attacks dont just lay in bed and think about it, get up, make yourself a milky drink and stand at the door and look at our lousy weather, If it a clear night look at the stars and try to count them, your brain will then go into another mode and you will forget the pain and you will relax, when you have finished your drink and start getting cold go back to bed and think of nothing. You will be ok trust me. wish I could talk to you. If It allowed my mail is pauline.neild@btinternet.com I know I showing this to everyone but if I can help you thats ok.

Try breathing some fresh air! Relax! Take a hot shower and breath the steam, sip a cup of hot herbal tea! These are things I do sometimes. Works for me, unless I'm having the other asthma attack that requires med attention and antibiotics. Using your inhaler when necessary.

Loretidine is an antihistamine that will reduce the production of histamine that is being over produced by your body in response to the allergen that your body doesn't like. You have mentioned your stomach and that may be where the problem is. I would suggest a gastroscopy to determime the health of your stomach. I am suprised that your doctors did not do blood tests, you haven't mentioned them. Go back to your doctor and suggest he does further tests as he is not doing his job properly.

Next time breathe into (and then out of) a paper bag. This will increae your bodys carbon dioxide levels and stop the overbreathing associted with the panic attack. It is this that makes you feel that you are going to die.

What kind of music do you enjoy? Is there a place that you can go to relax when you are feeling anxious?

Listen to soothing music, lay down and close your eyes. That helps me concentrate when I am starting to feel anxious

Go back to your GP and get your asthma medication reviewed. Also get them to give you something to calm you down which will help your breathing.
