I can't find it around here. Show's you how often I have used it! LOL Karo syrup, evaporated milk, egg yolk, and vegetable oil. I can't remember how much of what though. I have Goat-a-lac here if I need it. You can also use just regular goats milk as well as a milk replacer. Try starting the pups on a mushy food with canned puppy food, some goats milk, and some softened dry puppy food. Make this real mushy. Offer it to them in a bowl several times a day and put them back in with the ***** the rest of the time. This will be an easier wean for them off of her.

BRING THAT PUPPY BACK!!!! It doesn't matter whether or not the mother is producing MILK, she will teach the puppies a lot before they are ready to leave, as well the other puppies... it is critical that they stay TOGETHER!!!! They can be fed the milk in a 'flying saucer' pan as a group with no trouble - but they must stay as a litter until they are 8 weeks old! Anyone giving out puppies at this age is doing so against the law in most places, and should be reported to the local animal cruulty investigator. Period. Here is a time-honored recipe for puppy formula - but PLEASE do the right thing, and take the puppy back where it belongs! *PUPPY FORMULA* 1 can evaporated milk (NOT condensed) 1 can water (refill the can and add) 1 egg yolk (no white) ½ teaspoon Karo corn syrup -whirl in a blender just until mixed, don’t make foam, and don’t give any foam to puppy. It can be stored for the better part of a day in the fridge, but rewarm it in the microwave for about 15 seconds or so, and test it on your wrist.

Go to your vet. They should have milk there for puppies. Just mix that in a baby bottle.

I'd strongly advise against this. If you are concerned for the mother's health, then please contact a vet via the phone and make an appointment for her to be examined if you have to. If you do need milk, then your vet will probably sell milk replacers designed specifically for puppies. That would be you and your dog's best bet.

If you must feed them by hand with a substitute for mothers milk, you can get the milk either in cans or powder form at the pet shop, vet, or feed store. It especially for puppies and they also make one that is for kittens. Not sure what the brand is, but i have used it before, when my little mother dog died from eclampsia.

I would check with your vet about the mom's status before taking the puppies off from momma's milk. Suppliments can work, but nothing is quite as good for them. I don't think it's entirely abnormal for there to be irritation since the puppies have some sharp teeth, but your vet might be able to suggest something to help mom out with that, rather than taking the puppies off.
If your vet thinks it's needed, then he/she should be able to provide you with a substitute formula made for young puppies typically for cases when the mother doesn't survive or refuses to feed.
