If he isn't already microchipped, ask about that for sure. They can use a needle to inject a device about the size of a grain of rice into the scruff of his neck. If your pup ever wanders away, any vet or shelter can scan him with a handheld device that will show your name, phone, and address so you can be reunited.
Ask when your vet feels a good age to neuter him would be, overpopulation is a huge issue.
If you plan on boarding your pup at a kennel, ask about bordatella shots - these are supposed to cut the risk of kennel cough and other 'colds'.
Rabies and DHLP vaccinations as well as fecal tests to make sure that your little friend doesn't have worms or parasites, flea prevention (I have been using Advantage for five years now - great stuff), heart worm prevention, and training classes.
Also, if you're not already aware of one, ask if there is a dog park nearby - it's great exercise for your pup to run around with other dogs and it helps to socialize him early so he'll be better behaved when meeting new people and other dogs while you are walking him.
Hope this helps!

ask about flea and tick prevention, heartgaurd, when can you fix the dog...ask if they are going to test for worms? ask when the next shots are due..how often to bring the dog in...etc. have him do a full check up to make sure the pups healthy, take a temperture. ask about micro chipping. its when they inject a chip in between the shoulders, it doesnt hurt the dog. but its great incase he gets out on accident.

I would ask them what to expect at this visit and the next. Usually it's just boosters, and you probably have one more set, and finally rabies.
