Some comfort food would be great but I'm OUT OF IDEAS! I know about allrecipes (love it). But I need some ideas. Thanks!

I agree. I love Rachel's 30 min meals, but there's no way they come out in 30 mins!

My kids love this recipe:
Hamburger Pie
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
1 pound lean ground beef
1 onion, grated
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1 (4.5 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
4 ounces Cheddar cheese, sliced
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Crumble ground beef into a large skillet. Cook over medium-high heat 3 minutes. Add onion and continue to cook until meat and onion are both browned. Drain off excess fat.
Mix in soup, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, and mushrooms. Pour mixture into pastry-lined pan. Cover with top crust. Seal edges and cut steam vents in top.
Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, until crust is golden brown. Place slices of cheese on top of pie. Serve pie while hot.

There are several other really good options at the same site-I haven't found a bad one there yet. Bon Appetite!

Homemade vegetable beef soup is my idea of comfort food. Add some breadsticks and a deli salad, and the coldest day will feel a lot warmer!

1 pound ground beef
4 cups chicken broth
4 cups water
2 (1 ounce) packages dry onion soup mix
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 (16 ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables
3/4 cup elbow macaroni

DIRECTIONS

In a saute pan, brown ground beef, over medium heat.

In a large stock pot, combine broth, water, onion soup mix, tomato sauce, celery, onion, frozen vegetables and macaroni. Bring to a boil and then simmer until macaroni is done.

Add browned ground beef, mix and serve.

(This is even better if you have time to simmer it longer. And by the next day, any leftovers are even more delish!)

Brown the hamburger. If you have onions, also saute some onion. If not, add onion flakes or onion seasoning. Add a can of Ranch beans and a small can of dice Ortega chilies.

This is a quick Chili recipe that is sure to please on a cold day. It's great serve over hot dogs as well.

I love chili on a COLD day. Brown the hamburger, salt and pepper to taste. Get a package of dry chili mix; either Lowry's or McCormick or whatever and follow the directions on the package. Add 1 can of dark red kidney beans and tomato sauce.. Let simmer for the length of time the package calls for - maybe one hour.

My son-in-law crunches up a handful of Fritos and puts them in the bottom of the bowl, puts the chili in the bowl and then shredded cheddar cheese on top. He uses the Fritos instead of crackers. It's YUMMY.

Good old meatloaf. Crushed Ritz crackers, egg, ketchup, yellow mustard, A1 steak sauce and chopped onions is my secret, I also don't measure. sorry, been making it for so long I measure by eye.
Just make sure meat is not too dry or moist. Also, I form into mini loaves, instead of 1 large loaf, my kids like having thier own and it only takes about 20 mins. to cook.

Both are good for you, each fruit/vegetable has different vitamins. Therefore as more variety, as better. Vegetables have generally less sugar than fruits.
