There's a possibility it could be tendonitis in the wrist and hand as well. I get this from time to time. What I usually do for this is when it acts up, I wear wrist braces to bed at night. These are the ones you can get in any drug store. They keep your wrists immobilized enough for your wrists to start to heal. I'd suggest trying that and see if it helps. If not, it might be time to call your doctor.

Sometimes do you have a numbness or shooting pain in your shoulder? It shouldn't happen all the time but just sometimes?
It sounds like it is Carpal Tunnel. Don't worry it sounds worse than it is. You just need to do wrist stretches. Spread your fingers as wide as they would go. It should feel like a really good stretch. You need to do this quite a bit to get rid of it.
How you get Carpal Tunnel- your over using your wrist, doing one move over and over. Whether it is typing, writing, cooking, painting etc. etc.
Hope you feel better :-)

What kind of work do you do? You may have carpal tunnel syndrome. You could also have a nerve problem. i have poor circulation in my extremities and it takes a while for my hands to get up to strength and to warm up in the morning. Go to the doctor!!!

It could be. But I hope not too. Are you right handed? Could it be carpel tunnel? I'd go to the doctor if it lasts more htan a couple of days.
