Gerber baby food. The meat only. And there is also this gel you can buy. I forget the name but you can find it at PetSmart....NOT PETCO.....my Moms cat likes to lick it out of the tube but you can squeeze a little on his/her food. We have seen a difference in him.

Hyoerthroidism is now rampant in cats as early as age ten. All my vets have said they when they went through school they hardly saw an instance of it - now they may see two to three cases a week.
Cats maintain their adult weights pretty much throughout their adult lives. I have a 22 yr old cat that is quite bony around her neck and shoulders and has a fat tum-tum and her weight has stayed the same for the seven years she has been with me.
So I think you must have the vet run a blood panel on the cat to check it the thyroid is getting overactive. It is a condition that can be treated with medication or surgery or radioactive iodine treatment so you need to take that step to rule out its being an influence on the weight loss.

Most people say water because it's true. I lost close to 100 lbs. I cut out all drinks except water for 8 months. Yep, lost 92 pounds that quick. I took vitamins to make up for what I was losing by not drinking juice and much milk. Sometimes I flavored the water with a little lemon. It was the hardest 8 months of my life, but I went from a size 14 to a 4/6. You can do it!!!!

Kitten food has more calories then cat food so you can try feeding him that. If he continues to lose weight though you might want to take him to a vet and have some bloodwork done. There are different illlnesses that can cause cats to lose weight.

My mom feeds her siamese cats that are 17 and 18 years old Fancy Feast dry food for kittens. They love it and eat alot. I think because it is for kittens, that it is softer then regular dry food. She also cooks chicken for them. She takes all of the bones out of it, shreds it and they love it. She does not give them alot of chicken but enough to keep their appetite going. Good Luck.

firstly, get a routine blood test done by your vet. Hypothyroidism is very common.
You could try putting him on a good quality dry complete food like Royal canin. increase reccommended feeding amount by 10%. (ck with your vet first)

I'd have a good check up by a vet first. This COULD BE a symptom of kidney failure.
